How Much Does Roof Cleaning Cost in Baton Rouge?
What goes into a roof cleaning quote — roof size, pitch, stories, and how heavy the staining is — and how to get an accurate number.

Roof cleaning is priced per roof, not off a menu, because the work varies a lot from one house to the next. Here's what actually drives the number so you can gauge a quote.
What a quote is based on
Roof size (footprint and slope area). The single biggest factor. A 1,500 sq ft single-story ranch and a 3,500 sq ft two-story aren't close.
Pitch. Steeper roofs take more setup, more time, and more care to treat evenly and rinse fully.
Stories and access. Two- and three-story sections, tight side yards, screened enclosures, and landscaping right against the house all add time.
How heavy the staining is. Light haze rinses fast. Years of thick Gloeocapsa magma streaking, moss, or lichen needs more solution and more dwell time — ARMA's method is a 15–20 minute dwell, and heavy growth sits at the top of that.
Roof type. Shingle, metal, and tile each get a slightly different approach.
Add-ons. Many quotes bundle the roof with a house wash or driveway cleaning, which changes the total but usually lowers the per-service cost.
What it should include
A real roof cleaning quote covers landscaping protection (pre-wet and rinse), even whole-roof coverage rather than spot-treating streaks, and a low-pressure rinse. If a price seems low, ask whether they're pressure washing — which is cheaper, faster, and damages the roof.
Getting an accurate number
We inspect the property whenever possible before pricing, so we can assess the roof condition, access, landscaping, and any problem areas that photos or satellite imagery can miss. To get the conversation started, send:
- A few photos of each roof slope
- The property address (so we can check roof size and stories)
- Notes on problem areas or access
Larger or steep roofs, and commercial buildings, always get a site visit first.
Is it worth it vs. replacing?
If the roof is sound and just stained, cleaning is a small fraction of replacement cost — see roof cleaning vs roof replacement. If you'll re-clean every couple of years, factor that in too: how often should you clean a roof in Louisiana?
